Configure a workspace

The workspace settings page holds the name and description that identify the workspace, labels, service accounts and the option to disable the workspace.

Query and compute labels

Labels categorize queries and compute within the workspace.

Query labels are created on first use. Pass any name of 1 to 32 bytes without control characters or surrounding whitespace, up to 64 labels per query.

lf.remote(ctx).labels(["docs", "user-guide"]).sink_parquet("s3://<BUCKET>/output/")

Compute labels are set with the labels argument of a ComputeContext and must already exist in the workspace. Create and edit them under Workspace labels on the settings page.

Workspace ID

The workspace ID is in the portal URL, nanook.pola.rs/portal/<ORGANIZATION_ID>/<WORKSPACE_ID>/, and in the output of the CLI:

nanook workspace list

You need it to connect a cluster you run, such as one installed with the Helm chart or on bare-metal.

Delete a workspace

Workspace admins delete a workspace with Remove Workspace under Danger zone on the settings page, and confirm with Delete. This removes its data, stops its clusters and revokes its access tokens. It cannot be undone. On AWS, disconnect AWS first.
