Plans and billing
Polars Nanook has three plans: Developer, Team and Enterprise. A plan belongs to the organization, and the portal shows usage per workspace. Current prices are on pola.rs/pricing.

Pay for compute
Compute is measured in vCPU-hours (16 vCPUs for 30 minutes is 8 vCPU-hours) and billed per second. A vCPU-hour costs the same in every deployment (AWS, Helm chart or bare-metal) and counts against the plan's included compute first. The included vCPU-hours are shared by all workspaces of the organization and renew every month from the day it was created or last subscribed. Unused hours do not carry over.
On AWS, the vCPU-hours of the instances that run the queries count from the moment an instance is
booted and ready to execute queries until it is stopped, or until Polars Nanook detects that it was
terminated externally. Idle time until idle_timeout_mins expires is billed too, so call
ctx.stop() in unattended jobs (see Idle timeout). AWS
bills the instances and storage in the AWS account separately, and
Set up AWS lists what the stack itself costs.
On a cluster you run, each running worker counts with its CPU limit: the Kubernetes CPU limit, or the machine's CPU count when no limit is set. The count follows the workers as they join and leave. The machines and storage are your own cost.
Under Organization > Billing in the portal, connect a payment method to go beyond the included compute on Developer, or choose the Team plan. Pay by credit card or through AWS Marketplace, which puts the charges on your AWS bill and counts them toward committed AWS spend.
Enterprise
Enterprise pricing, terms and the scope of a trial before purchase are agreed per organization. Talk to us or request a demo to discuss an Enterprise plan.
